SMC uses CAD and CAM in its design departments and a combination of Manual, NC, and CNC in the manufacturing process.  Mount components are inspected during manufacture and again when assembled.  Since 99.9% of SMC products are assembled "in house" your chances of getting a bad product are almost nil.
